Introducing The Elite Dance Academy Faculty 

Our qualified and experienced dance teachers are trained to provide professional lessons in a fun and supportive environment. To ensure that our dancer teachers stay at the forefront of dance, our teachers undertake constant development. This includes attending workshops and classes to update and refresh their qualifications.

It also allows Elite Dance Academy to introduce new dance styles and improved dance techniques to our Elite Dance Academy students. We are always looking to keep our dance lessons up-to-date and fresh. Let’s meet Our Qualified and Experienced Dance Teachers:


Kylie Banister – Brown

Principal

Kylie commenced training in all styles of dance at the age of 3 and has performed in many eisteddfods and events. In 1996, she opened Newcastle Danz Worx and what started out as a small studio, quickly grew into one of the biggest and most popular studios in the valley.

Kylie has choreographed for Rock Eisteddfods, NSW Schools Spectacular as well as many local events. Danz Worx students have competed in many eisteddfods and performed in local fetes, festivals, fashion parades and charity events etc.

Kylie purchased Elite Dance Academy in 2008 and in 2010 moved with her family to the Gold Coast. She has introduced Tap exams to the studio, with  students attaining excellent results. Students participate in dance exams and students have achieved outstanding results in Tap, Jazz and Ballet.

_ Ready Set Dance Platinum Teacher

In 2012 Students from EDA and DANZ WORX travelled to Disneyland, to perform and train. Our second and third trips in 2015 & 2019 were also very successful with performances at Disneyland , Citadel, Universal Studios plus training at Disney and Millieum Dance Studio in Los Angels . We were planning to return Christmas 2021 but due to the Covid 19 Pandemic we will delay this trip until such time its safe to take students and their families to USA.

Cara Lau (nee Adams)

Ballet

Cara grew up in dancing in Hobart, Tasmania where she completed all her Cecchetti Ballet exams up to Advanced 2 level. She then moved to the Gold Coast when she was 18 to attend The Australian Dance Performance Institute, where she completed her advanced diploma in performing arts, specialising in Ballet. Cara was then successful in being offered her first professional overseas dance contract and travelled to Macau, China. Since then she has travelled the world dancing for several cruise line companies and theme parks, as well as returning to Macau for further contracts. 

After returning to the Gold Coast, Cara completed her Associate Diploma in Cechhetti Ballet Teaching. For the last 6 years she has loved sharing her knowledge and experience with the next generation of performers , the past few years have been busy for Cara as she got married and has started her own family.

She can’t wait to start another year as part of the elite family.

Tiana Graff

Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Lyrical, Acrobatics & Tap

I have been dancing since I was 3 years old and I have trained in jazz, ballet, contemporary, hip-hop, acrobatics, lyrical and musical theatre. I completed my two years full-time dance in 2014 and since then have worked at movieworld, showtime attractions and have done back up dancing for local artists.

The only thing I love more in the world than dancing is my dog and putting them together is even better!

Aston Cahill

Miss Aston has been a part of the EDA family since 2011 when she began classes with us, she attended Helensvale high where she was in the dance excellence program.  After high school she attended Ikin dance full time program where she achieved her very lv in dance and  cert lll in personal training. She continued her training in Ikin pro course and took part in performing  in spotlight theatre productions, including The Boy from Oz and Saturday Night Fever. 

In 2019 Miss Aston travelled to USA with ELITE to perform and train .Miss Aston is looking forward to an awesome 2023 at ELITE

Natasha Cooper

Miss Tash was first introduced to EDA in 2009 as a student in Hip Hop. In 2010 she completed her high school work experience with us as an assistant teacher and continued in this role until she graduated from Year 12 at Helensvale State High School. Miss Tash was also one of the first members of our very first Hip Hop Crew and represented EDA in solo competitions/eisteddfods where she was very successful. Since then Miss Tash has been a valued staff member of EDA who has taught many of our Hip Hop classes from beginner through to our performance crews and solo competitors.

Through her experience with the studio Tash had developed a real passion for teaching where she actually went on to complete her Bachelor of Secondary Education in 2016 and now is a qualified high school teacher. Miss Tash hopes to inspire future generations through her work as a high school teacher and dance teacher at Elite. To her EDA is more than just a studio, it is a place where you are encouraged to reach your best potential and to take the courage to follow your dream
